  • Bicycle Victoria has a 'Find a BUG' page which lists almost every BUG in the state.
  • Moreland BUG - we are officially affiliated with the Moreland BUG, though unfortunately they don't have much of a web presence.
  • Darebin Bicycle User Group - another local bike group
  • Melbourne Bicycle Users Group - a BUG for people who live or work in or near the centre of Melbourne.
  • Melbourne Cyclist - Melbourne Cyclist is a site for cyclists in Melbourne to talk, share hints and generally stay informed.
  • Bike Fun Melbourne - the name says it all... though you need to subscribe to the mailing list to really find out whats happening.
  • Free Bike Fix -  - the very nice people at Free Bike Fix fix bikes every Sunday (weather permitting) in the Carlton Gardens, at the end of Canning St.
  • Bin The Bike Ban - a focal point for those who want to overturn the recent banning of bicycles on some Victorian commuter trains.

Bicycle NSW also has a list of BUGs, though obviously they are in not in Melbourne.

Recommended Local Bike Shops

  • Human Powered Cycles - a local bike place with close ties to community. We usually direct people who want to buy a pre-loved bike to HPC. (They build the bike for you, we dont.)
  • Abbotsford Cycles - an excellent bike shop, located underneath Richmond Station.
  • Lygon Cycles - a bike shop quite close to CERES. They are on Lygon St near Brunswick Rd.
  • Ivanhoe Cycles - a good sort-of local bike shop, particularly if you are after womens bikes.
  • St Kilda Cycles - considered by many to be one of thes best bikeshops in Melbourne. These guys are renouned for customer service, have a very wide selection of bikes including speciliast bikes, and a very impressive range of lights and lighting accessories.
  • Bicycle Recycle - a shop that recycles bikes in Moorabbin

  • Wooden Bikes - an engineer from Palo Alto who builds bikes from driftwood and other found materials
  • Bicycle Maintenance Wiki - an excellent online reference for people wanting to repair their own bicylces.

  • Bicycles Network Australia - an excellent website which lists hundreds of Australian cycling websites and resources.
  • Wheels of Justice - a cycling website for Australians who want justice for cyclists.

  • http://www.bikekitchen.org - San Francisco based community bike group.
  • http://www.pedalpower.org -  Vancouver based group who develop and promote the use of pedal powered technology, and have an excellent website.
  • http://www.bikecollectives.org - attempts to provide a centralised list of North American community bike groups.
